Kay supports Mike Ghaffary at Canvas, with a background in hospitality, food & wine. Kay’s passion for hospitality was sparked at age 19 living in New York attending NYU for studio art. Kay returned to San Francisco to continue undergraduate studies at SFSU and went to work with the most talented chefs in the city. Kay has 18 years of experience in hospitality; eight within fine dining at James Beard Award winning restaurants in San Francisco such as Quince & Gary Danko and 10 years within venture capital supporting the Benchmark partners and their entrepreneurs from 2008-2018.
Kay is a part of two restaurant projects: Flour + Water Pizzeria and Elda Bar in San Francisco.
